Focal Point Ministries has been serving the local church in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin since 1994. It’s heartbeat is to resource, train, and equip the local church in ministry to and through its men. We believe the Bible is clear that a man’s role is pivotal in the life of his family and in society in general. We also believe that the local church is the most vital connection-point in a man’s life and spiritual growth-walk with Jesus Christ. Within the context of the local church, a man joins in community with other Christ-followers to be trained, equipped, and resourced to be a servant-leader in every area of his life. Having served the local church for 21 years, Focal Point Ministries has become a trusted field ministry impacting thousands of men in a three-state region.
Who We Are
Roy heads up the ministry team. As an ordained minister of the gospel, Roy regularly engages men all over the Midwest. His trademark transparency puts men at ease and often gives him the opportunity to share the redemptive power of Jesus Christ in almost any setting. Roy and his wife Kim reside in Fulton, IL. They have three grown children, two daughters-in-law and four granddaughters.
Michele is the Administrative Assistant with Focal Point Ministries. For the past 4 years she has helped Roy with the day to day running of the ministry and all aspects of the Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s and Women’s conferences. Michele also helps to maintain the content on our websites, as well as our email outreaches. She believes that Jesus uses all of our gifts to serve in many little ways. She is married to Jeff and they have 2 children, one in college and one in high school.
Christine is the Director of Women’s Ministries with Focal Point Ministries. For the past 11 years, she has been a support staff with FPM for the men’s and women’s Iron Sharpens Iron conferences in the Midwest region. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ashford University. In 2010, she completed a Discipleship Training Program with Youth With A Mission. During this time of study and overseas missions in Thailand and China, she developed a strong passion for prayer and intercession. Christine has recently spoken at women’s events and churches with a focus on developing a strong prayer life and training in intercession. Her heart and passion is to disciple young women to find their worth, validation and affirmation in Christ alone.
Todd is a second career guy who went from a career in horticulture to being a pastor. He was called into his second career of ministry through his involvement in ministry to and through men. He has been in the trenches of men’s ministry for 25 plus years at the local church level. Through a process of reconnecting with Roy (who he graduated from high school with) He is now partnering with him and Focal Point Ministries to help keep the mission of FPM moving forward. He especially looks forward to working with churches and men’s ministry leaders who are looking to engage or re-engage the men in their churches, in order to encourage the disciple making process in their churches and communities. He has been married to his friend and partner Cindy for 34 year, lives in Joliet Illinois, and has 3 grown children; Anne Marie, Ben, and Jonathan.
What We Believe
We believe that there is one God...
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, I Corinthians 8:4, Psalm 90:2, I Timothy 1:17, Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that the Bible...
We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.
(II Peter 1:20,21, II Timothy 3:16, Revelation 22:18,19, John 17:17, Matthew 5:17,18)
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
(John 1:1, Colossians 2:9, Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 4:15, Acts 2:22,23, I Peter 3:18, I John 1:7, I Corinthians 15:4, Mark 16:19, Hebrews 7:25, Matthew 24:30)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life.
(I Corinthians 2:10,11, I Corinthians 12:11, Ephesians 4:30, Acts 5:3,4, Titus 3:5, I Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:16, Galatians 5:22,23)
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. That alienation can be removed by accepting through faith alone God’s gift of salvation, which was made possible by Christ’s death.
(Genesis 1:27, I John 3:4, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Isaiah 59:2, Ephesians 2:8,9, Philippians 3:9, Romans 3:28, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, I John 5:11,12, Romans 3:24, Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Ephesians 1:7, I Corinthians 15:3-8)
